If you have the correct drive setup it would atleast give you the CD player (Music Player) or say this disc is not made for this system If you get the later message you just need to set the correct region in the emu and restart it The ST-V does not realy need to be set but it can't do any harm in getting that bios file and setting it up in the emu aswell Some games do run better in older versions aswell though, Ver0.09 beta R4 seems to be the best version for alot of games For more info for individual games go then go to the JAP page, USA page or PAL page. I remember I had to do a lot of different things to get this emulator working properly. One quirk I remember is you have to have the Bios named Saturnbios.bin, or it simply won't work. You can download any bios you want for it, but you just have to rename it. I also had trouble getting it to see the memory card/ram. You just have to go into options and make sure you have backup ram cartridge selected under 'cartridge' menu, there is a 1MB and 4MB ram cart listed don't use those.
And also you have to format the ram cartridge in the Bios before you can save anything on it. Also in options it will have CD drive listed, make sure you have your virtual drive selected if you are going to use Daemon tools, or it won't work. Its pretty easy to tell which one is your virtual drive, one should say DVD RW, or etc, and the other won't have anything in it that says DVD and this one will be your virtual drive. I don't think the area code in options is important, I had mine set on USA, and it would still load Japanese games. Check the site here for a Saturn Bios file if you need one. If you get a Bios with a different language there is a way to change the language of the bios in the options somewhere.

Oh and you don't need the STV bios, I don't have one on mine. If you do all this then you should get it working no problem.
Save states don't work as far as I know, but I have an older SSF version and they might work on one of the newer versions. I ran into some problems with a few games I downloaded that had bad.que files, and I had to use a.cue maker to make a new.cue file for the games before they would load up. And occasionally some would quit loading up all the sudden, and I would have to remake the.que file again. Not exactly sure what is causing this, but if anyone has trouble getting a game to load on SSF, try making a new.que file, it worked for me. This happened a few times with Shining Force 3 scenarios.

Hi, I'm having a bit of a nightmare i wanted to play Astal because i've heard its a good saturn game so i burn it to a disc (Write speed is 16x) because my DVD writer in my PC doesn't support 2.4x (THIS COULD BE MY ISSUE). I tested the game and it didn't work on my saturn, just said no disc in drive. So i tried to burn Sonic Jam using a write speed of 16x too because thats the lowest i can burn. (I'm using good quality cd-r's by the way (Verbatim). And tragically that didn't work either, So to eliminate the factor of it being a bad Image i decided to make a backup of one of my sega saturn games that work. Then wrote it to a disc at the same speed as before and that didn't work either.
I've burnt saturn games before with success at 2.4x/4x speed a long time ago using a different DVD writer in my old computer which i got rid of, Is this a problem with my DVD writer?, Do i need to buy one that supports 2.4x speed? Thanks for the replies guys, I plan on buying a better DVD writer for my pc, as the one I have is only capable of 16x write speed, I usually write at around 2.4x or 4x just to ensure a good backup. The writer I have currently is just a bog standard writer I'm pretty sure it's not even branded, looking to get a Ihas124 disc drive as they are only about £18, like I said I've never had issues using Sony cd-r when I used to burn them at low speeds on my old pc, if all else fails I'll buy a new laser for the Saturn, been thinkingn about buying one anyway just as a spare for the future. Anyone have any further advice?
I switched out my dvd writer with an ihas 124b and used the same discs, (Verbatim) and i am left with another coaster. It had to burn at a minimum of 16x speed, However i looked at the back of some of my other copied discs (the ones that work) and they look like they were written at 16x as well. (the pattern looks similar on the back). Maybe i have a bad batch of discs or my laser is being fussy and not tolerating verbatim discs?, I haven't tried burning any copies on cheaper media yet as i don't have any at hand but my saturn is playing the other copies fine and i believe they are written on Asda branded discs as well as Sony. I'm confused.com My only thoughts would be that my laser is getting a bit weaker and as a result is only playing a certain type disc.
