Ah, so it lets you beat the game faster It is also way cooler =P No but seriously Sequence Breaks are what make Metroid Prime and keep it alive for most people. Doing the same route over and over gets really boring. The only downside is a slight chance to crash when in small sections of the Chozo ruins: The crashes are well worth the ability to exploit through the game in nearly an hour and a half though and as the videos say they can be avoided by playing the game on the Wii instead of the cube(probably different memory configuration or disc read speed). quote='MistaSmegheneghan' ah, so it lets you beat the game faster /quote It is also way cooler =P No but seriously Sequence Breaks are what make Metroid Prime and keep it alive for most people. Well, I finally managed to snag a copy of it. I popped it in, and man, it felt so good to see that scan dash:), considering I had a player's choice copy for so long. Anyways, I got the space jump boots first (without having to go up and lock on to the enemy in the other room, ha ha! ), and was heading to the Chozo ruins in the elevator, and.

My game crashed lol, so I came back to try again, and. My game crashed again:P! The next couple times it didn't though, but I had wierd luck in the beginning, considering that the original version occasionally crashes. Anyways, it's pretty awesome, having lots of fun with sequence braking. Well, I finally managed to snag a copy of it. The Wii's drive controller is switchable between GameCube speed (DVD 3x) and Wii speed (DVD 6x). Certain Wii modchips allow you to switch the speed of the drive down to GameCube speed for Wii games if you want it to run quieter. In actual fact the only concrete information we have about this from disassembly of Prime's 0-00 and PAL loading routines is that the PAL ones perform CPU cache flush opcodes more often. This, coupled with the fact that the crashes do not seem to occur on the Wii, suggest to me that the most likely cause is a CPU or hardware bug in the GameCube. Now that you mention that, I remember SkippyJr talking about the differences between the MP1 and MP2 compression algorithms, and saying that the MP2 one loads smaller chunks, decompresses, and does cpu cache flushes and repeates, where as mp1 just load and decompresses the entire thing. Perhaps when you referred to the cache flushes, you were thinking of mp2's? Because MP1 never changed it's compression throughout the different versions I can't remember the details. That some change was made to the loading mechanism between NA and PAL versions cannot be disputed, though.
